You may pay for your dental care with the assistance of a dental plan. Usually, it's an insurance that your company bought for staff members. If you have a dental plan, understanding how it operates may help you make the most of your coverage and expedite the procedure. Additionally, we advise our patients to peruse the pamphlet or other resources provided by their insurance company.

If you are an Ontario college or university student, a dental plan may run throughout a calendar year, a benefit year, or a school year. A calendar year's plan is in effect from January 1 to December 31. Any 12-month period within a benefit year is covered by the plan. Each category often has between 50% and 100% coverage. Your plan will pay a maximum annual amount for each of these categories, either alone or in combination. Your dental insurance will not cover any more dental treatments until a new calendar year, benefit year, or school year begins after the maximum amount has been reached.
